SUBLINGUAL B12 Vitamin B12 is one of nature’s “Feel Good” nutrients. It is a water-soluble vitamin important for the body’s metabolism. Metabolism refers to all physical and chemical processes in the body, creating and using energy. Unlike other water soluble vitamins, Vitamin B12 is stored for years in the body’s liver. Because of this, a vitamin B12 deficiency is very rare. If this happens, Sublingual B12 is a quick, effective and safe solution. Vitamin B12's primary functions are the formation of red blood cells and the maintenance of a healthy nervous system. B12 is also necessary for the rapid synthesis of DNA during cell division. Here it is difficult to detect a deficiency since synthesis of DNA and cell division is invisible to the human. However, there are symptoms of deficiency including excessive tiredness, breathlessness, listlessness, pallor, and poor resistance to infection. Other symptoms may include a smooth, sore tongue and menstrual disorders. Low levels can cause anaemia, numbness, tingling in the arms and legs weakness and loss of balance. Anaemia may also be due to folic acid deficiency since folic acid is necessary for DNA synthesis. We cannot always blame the B12. Unfortunately, some bodies cannot absorb vitamin B12 from the intestinal tract, causing pernicious anemia. One reason why this inability occurs comes from having specific parts of the small intestine or stomach removed. Until recently, if a person showed a deficiency in B12, they had to resort to regular painful injections. They can now take Increased energy and stamina Increased mental clarity Decreased dangerous homocysteine levels, which lesson the risk of developing heart disease and Alzheimer disease. Emotional balance Restful sleep When we consume foods containing B12 or swallow a B12 supplement, it travels from your mouth into the stomach. There, stomach acids separate the B12 from its protein source and attach it to other intrinsic factor cells. This combination is then transported via blood plasma and stored in the liver. The Sublingual method passes nutrients directly into the blood. The word “sublingual” literally means “under the tongue.” It refers to a method of administering substances in the mouth so they are rapidly absorbed into the blood vessels. Sublingual B12, a small tablet, is placed under the tongue usually once a day. This allows the active ingredients to be absorbed directly through the mucous membranes of the mouth, bypassing the digestive system. Sublingual B12 then enters the blood stream where it goes to work. Cardiovascular drugs, steroids and some barbiturates have been given sublingually for many years, saving lives. Now herbal remedies are added to this list. As I stated above, B12 is known as the feel good nutrient, focusing on the nerves and mental clarity. There is another purpose that is frequently ignored. When you ingest “Methionine” (an amino acid) it must be broken down into a non-essential amino acid so that you can produce other proteins. This process requires Homocysteine, plus energy, vitamins and other nutrients. If you are B12 deficient, then this process either will not take place at all or occur very slowly. Homocysteine, gradually becomes toxic and will damage your arteries and brain cells. People tend to think of B12 as simply a nerve and energy vitamin. However, there is another purpose that is ignored. However, increasing the B12 in our body through using a Sublingual B12 helps protect our arteries and brain cells, keeping us healthy.
