GUGGUL

In the original texts from over two thousand years ago, Guggul was recommended as one of Ayurveda’s most important purifying herbs. Guggul is an effective herbal medicine for controlling obesity and cholesterol. Guggul, or Guggulu as some spell it, is a well established fat burning agent used all the world including America, Japan, Europe and many other nations.  The benefits are now world reknowned.

Guggul cleanses unhealthy tissues, increases the white blood cell count and rejuvenates the skin. Practitioners from India consider Guggul as the consummate blood detoxifier useful in any condition characterized by congestion or stagnation. Further, practitioners also recognize that Guggul carries strong disinfecting properties.

Guggul increases white blood cell counts by lowering the cholesterol and triglycerides while maintaining, or improving the HDL to LDL ratio.  It has been shown that Guggul can lower blood cholesterol by 14-27% and can lower triglycerides by 22-30%. These statistics are comparable to prescription medication but as a natural plant extract, it is superior and safer.

Guggul benefits the liver by increasing the metabolism (or breaking down) of bad cholesterol known as LDL Cholesterol.  After taking Guggul for 4-12 weeks, total cholesterol levels can drop, triglyceride levels can drop and an increase in HDL (good cholesterol) of approximately 16% can occur.

In addition to helping the blood, Guggul is one of the very first “Broad spectrum drugs” with a wide therapeutic range.

This means that Guggul is able to fight ailments such as our common cold and various skin, dental and ophthalmic infections. It clears the sinuses of congestion, relieves chronic skin disorders, and treats obesity, shrinks swollen glands and cools inflamed joints.

A summary of Guggul actions are:

Lowers cholesterol and triglycerides while maintaining or improving HDL to LDL ratio
