CORAL CALCIUM BENEFITS

by Gayle Redfern

It is common knowledge that our bodies need calcium for our bones and teeth.  However, it is NOT common knowledge that in addition to helping bones and teeth, coral calcium benefits muscles and nerve functions. 99% of the body’s calcium is found in the bones but it is the remaining 1% that is crucial. This 1% of Coral Calcium benefits the heart, lowers blood pressure and improves blood lipids levels, all because of a wondrous 1%.

While quality coral calcium comes from fossilized coral containing up to 70 different minerals, the identified essential ones are Magnesium, Manganese and Chromium. These work with heart, blood pressure and blood lipids.

MAGNESIUM is calming for the nerves and stimulating for the immune system.

MANGANESE is an antioxidant that is important in the breakdown of amino acids and producing the body’s energy.

The last trace mineral, CHROMIUM, that you find in a quality coral calcium supplement benefits both the carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.  Chromium, the Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF) is also known as a niacin compound.  It is necessary for the metabolism of carbohydrate and lipids in the body.   Lipids include both cholesterol and triglycerides.

Cholesterol has become a popular word in the health industry. One of its functions is producing cell membranes and some hormones. For this, we need a high level of HDL - high density lipoproteins and low levels of LDL – low density lipoproteins.

Triglycerides are a form of fat.  The ideal healthy combination is low triglycerides correlated with a low cholesterol level. This latter is made up of low LDL and high HDL.

Thanks to scientific research, we discovered that coral calcium benefits all of these. Coral calcium can be found in some sea foods but not all. SO, regardless of whether you eat fish or not, in today's world, we need supplements.

Science tells us that calcium is only absorbed in its ionic state. A coral calcium supplement is ionic. However, calcium in regular supplements is not ionic.  Thus, the body must break it down through digestion.  To achieve this, we need to deacidify our body. To neutralize each acid, you need a corresponding alkaline substance. A simple way to find the corresponding substance is through your drinking water.

As I learned about these processes, I also learned more about various types of water, ionized, acidic and alkaline. We know that we need to drink plenty of water. However, to get coral calcium benefits we need to consume water that is either ionic or alkaline, NOT acidic. Ordinary tap water seldom gives us this. It is vital to our health that we acknowledge the impact of the consumption of acidic and alkaline products.

We try to standardize our eating habits and this does not always work.  Some bodies need more acid while others develop acidic stomachs, but all organs suffer with too much acid. Calcium and magnesium will neutralize an acidic stomach but the calcium is only absorbed in an ionic state. It is also vital to our health that we recognize the impact of the absorption of acidic and alkaline products.

If our body does not receive the pertinent corresponding alkaline substance, then the acidity may take over. If this happens then, in addition to poor bones and teeth,  many enzymatic reactions in the body will suffer.  Calcium is necessary for the contraction of muscles, release of neurotransmitters, regulation of heart beat, clotting of blood. A deficiency of calcium leads to acidification, osteoporosis which thins and weakens bones.

As well as specific negative effects, I found that acidic stomachs are related to many ailments. Calcium and magnesium both neutralize an acid stomach.  However, calcium is only absorbed by the body in its ionic state. The benefit of Coral Calcium is that it is ionic, already contains magnesium  and is already alkaline. We must remember that coral calcium benefits are substantial.

An explanation of IONIC can become very complicated.  However, a simple version is that it is based on the electrical bonds between opposite ions.  One example is ordinary table salt.  The Sodium and Chloride have an ionic bond.

Medicinally, it is customary to take straight calcium carbonate (antacids) for an upset stomach. However, it is important to remember that calcium requires added trace minerals to be added to make it alkaline and useful to the body. Calcium has to become ionic and have trace minerals such as D3 to be absorbed. The benefit of Coral Calcium is that it naturally includes the trace elements, is naturally alkaline and is ionic.
